British Racing Green

...of Jaguars and Astons, of cabbages and kings....

I have recently had a thing for British cars, specifically Jaguars and Aston Martins. As of late, I'm digging the 1996-2006 Jaguar XKR, as pictured below. I would love to have one in a British racing green. (For more info on how color liveries are used in auto racing to designate the nationality of a racing team. click this link - International racing colors )

Jaguars:

1999 Jaguar XKR in "sapphire metallic"- 390 h.p.

Here is my favorite coupe model and the CG depiction in a drive
round Trial Mountain raceway of GT5 ...a cracker!
(This cars top speed down Mulsanne straight was 176 m.p.h.)

2010 Jaguar XKR in "botanical green metallic" - 510 h.p.
(This cars top speed down Mulsanne straight was 189 m.p.h.)

Lady Mary would dig this car.

Aston Martins:

2000 Aston Martin DB7 in "Grasmere blue" - 420 h.p.
(This cars top speed down Mulsanne straight was 178 m.p.h.)

...a different blue silver

2004 Aston Martin Vanquish V12 also in "Grasmere blue" - 450 h.p.
(This cars top speed down Mulsanne straight was 184 m.p.h.)

2003 Aston Martin DB9 in "racing green metallic" - 450 h.p.
(This cars top speed down Mulsanne straight was 185 m.p.h.)

EDIT:
Here is the Jag I got for myself almost 2.5 years after I wrote this post.

Honda N box

I love this vehicle design. As an owner of a first gen Scion xB I think the Honda "N box" picks up where that left off and pushes that sensibility even further. the color schemes on a few here remind me of the spirited color treatment on the mini cooper. Even white wheels on an example or two. I also like the white on white scheme as it reminds me of various "type R" hondas over the years.

Here is the Honda "Step bus." the original model that inspired this new version.
(love the white steelies)

Peugeot 205 and 106 rallye

I came across a model of car I was not familiar with before. I decided, after looking at it, and reading about it, that I liked it a lot. (into rally cars as of late)

The car...a Peugeot rallye from the late 80's early 90's. It was sold only in several european countries. If this were 6 years ago I would probably try to see about importing one via the grey market and driving it around here in America. As it stands I will just enjoy looking at them.

I did not take any of these pics, My hats off to these owners. I got most of them from this forum:

Subaru Imprezas in GT5

Lately I have been enjoying Subaru Imprezas in WR blue mica (w/ gold wheels :). What better way to enjoy them (virtually) than by slapping some dirt tires on them and taking them for a spin around the toscana gravel track in Gran Turismo 5. I bought up all I could find so far in the new and used car dealerships. The cars all had stock powertrains.(..some may have been lowered though) Here are some stills of my runs for your enjoyment.
